I began the New England Masters Synchro Team with Sammy as a duet in 2016.  I first started my synchro career when I was 6 years old with ANA Synchro based in Andover, Mass. I competed with ANA for 11 years; placing in finals at meets such as Junior/Senior Nationals, US Opens, and Junior Olympics. I took a short break from swimming synchro in college, where I raced competitively for Salve Regina University’s swim team. I have coached the BGCN Aquamarines as their Age Group coach since 2012. I am a Level 3 judge with USA Artistic Swimming and am the NESSA North Admin Chair for USA Artistic Swimming.

When I am not doing synchro, I enjoy eating good food, traveling, spending time with my family and fiancé , & most importantly snuggling with my furbabies (Melon, Ziggy, & Marley). For work, I am a middle school special education teacher who specializes in social and emotional learning.

I started at BGCN with the Aquamarines way back in the day. I’ve since swum for the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and briefly as a professional swimmer at SeaWorld San Antonio. I started swimming masters in 2009.

During the ‘off’ season I’m an avid skier and love opportunities to support adaptive skiers!

Elena joined the UMW Terrapins Synchronized Swimming team while earning a B.S. in Biology at the University of Mary Washington, VA. After graduation, she worked in Biotech in clinical testing for rare genetic diseases with a focus on immunology. While working, she continued her synchro career, swimming in Worcester with the Synchro Maids of Central Mass. After getting married and starting a family, she took a break from work and synchro to be home with her three daughters.

Elena is currently working part-time at a plastic surgery office, and serving as the events director of the PTO at her children’s school.  She is so happy to be back in the pool!

Julia (joined 2023)

I started my synchro career on the Synchro-Maids of Central Massachusetts (SCM) where I swam and competed through high school (1994 to 2000).  In 2008, I returned to the sport and started swimming at the masters level for SCM, then in 2022 I joined NEM.  I am passionate about synchro being a sport for life and I truly enjoy both the team aspect of synchro and the supportive atmosphere of the masters national competitions.

Outside of synchro, I work as an engineer and associate vice president for an environmental and engineering consulting firm.  I am also a mom of two boys (9 and 12 years old).  I enjoy live music, the beach, snorkeling in the Caribbean, and skiing.

Julia grew up doing competitive synchronized swimming in Budapest, Hungary where she competed as part of the Hungarian youth national team for the Junior World Championships. When her family moved to Singapore, she continued synchronized swimming under a Belarussian coach and a Singaporean team. In college, she continued synchro for fun and was part of the Boston University's team and has competed at Nationals in duet, solo, and team.

Julia brings a strong foundation in technique, training, and team dynamics. She loves creating a positive and supportive environment.

Outside of the pool, Julia is a Medical Illustrator and Animator at Trial Exhibits, a full-service consulting, exhibits, and trial presentation company. She strives to continually expand her skill set to better assist healthcare professionals through her meticulously crafted illustrations and animations.
